Between trains, flights and in hotel receptions

It is my first blog post, but I feel inspired in this morning. I feel like sharing my thoughts, although I have never kept a diary when being a teenager.
I am sitting in the reception room in a hostel (if you have the possibility, try PLUS hostels) in Berlin and listening to the specific noise of travelers. Although one can say that this is a bit disturbing when you have to work, especially after a night out and only 2h of sleep, it is a pleasant noise! Some people coming in with their life stories along, next to the big suitcases, other people leaving with their new experiences packed with their clothes. I have always felt that hostels are the places where many stories come together. I am now realizing how much I like this specific noise of hotel receptions, airports and train stations. In my view, all these places show the clash (in the positive sense) between individual identities. Such a clash, if experienced through verbal  interaction as well, can lead to challenges of our limits, perceptions, opinions. I enjoy this feeling where you define yourself better through such experiences.
To tell the whole story, I have been living in Genshagen, 40km from Berlin, for 3 weeks now. I have been organizing workshops on cultural diversity that I presented together with my team in some German schools. We are 19 volunteers for this project, great people with many ideas and great life experiences to share, but after sharing each minute of the day, it comes a moment when you need to escape. So I escaped to Berlin, planning 2 salsa nights. I went alone, since I am the only salsa addicted from the group.
I have heard many "take-cares" from them and I must confess that I was also a bit worried to go alone to the city where I have seen that people have complete freedom to express their personalities - green hair, pink beard etc. What I can say is that when you expect something great to happen it just happens. In my case, what occurred to me was that one of the travelers who I was supposed to share the hostel room with (out of 4) was an American (Mickey) wishing to discover the mix of cultures so we had great time together speaking about life, perceptions and habits on the 2 continents. It was also better for my personal security to go around during the night and I have also found some great salsa dancers in the club where I went.
I think it is up to us to make our own great moments. Today, a new sunny day begins and I have the feeling it will just be a happy day. Being young, doing everything that I want just offers a sweet feeling that fulfills every cell of my body.

It might be the tiredness that makes me feel like floating, but this is just a perfect moment on a perfect day in a perfect world. Today, right now, I perceive a perfect world. And I wanted to share this moment with you all, my readers.

Gruss aus Berlin!
